Raymond Waring

RAYMOND WARING – Assistant Director

Raymond Waring was born in Bootle, Merseyside in 1977 and raised in Runcorn, Cheshire.
 
In 1994 he trained with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and the following year he was directed by Douglas Hodge in the TV Drama ‘The People are the Forest’.
 
In 1997, he began training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. It was at the GSMD where he met Shoji Kokami. Whilst at Guildhall, Waring trained as a director/actor with the renowned Alain Knapp at the Prima Del Teatro in Italy.
 
Upon graduation, in 2000, he appeared in the films ‘Lucky Break’ and ’24 Hour Party People’ and has since worked steadily in cinema inculding the films ‘Heartlands’, ‘Yes’, ‘Finding Neverland’, ‘A Cock & Bull Story’ and ’28 Weeks Later’.
 
In 2003, he directed ‘Marilynexmachina’ for the stage in collaboration with the renowned filmmaker Peter Whitehead and in 2006, he trained with Toby Jones as part of Complicite’s workshop programme.
 
In 2009, he produced a rehearsed reading of ‘Halcyon Days’ as part of the Japan UK 150 Celebration at the Japan Foundation.
 
Recently he has appeared with Ten Ten Theatre’s production of ‘The Jeweller’ directed by Paul Jepson. He will be seen in the forthcoming feature film ‘Intruders’ directed by the visionary director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.
